Rangat, Dec 19: The Nehru Yuva Kendra, Rangat in collaboration with Biswas Organisation for Social Service, Shantanu organized Block Level Neighbourhood Youth Parliament on 18th December,2016 at Community Hall, Uttara in which 90 participants participated. On the occasion Smti Swapna Mondal, Zilla Parisad Member, Kadamtala was the chief guest who inaugurated the programme by lighting the lamp along with Shri Jyotimay Bawali, Ex-Zilla Parisad Member, Shri Taranga Dhali, Ex-Samiti Member, Shri Prakash Ch. Roy, Samiti member, Shri Paritosh Mondal, Sarpanch and Shri Ashish Kr. Mazumdar, President of BOSS, Shantanu.
After inauguration of the programme Shri Alphonce Toppo, District Youth Coordinator, NYK, Rangat welcomed the chief guest and gathering. In the first session Shri Ashish Sekhar, Panchayat Secretary, Uttara spoke about Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Joyti Bima Yojna, Atal Pension Yojana, MUDRA Bank, Beti Bachoo Beti Padhawo, Skill India, Digital India, Cashless Transaction etc. In the second session Shri Samir Biswas, Secretary of BOSS highlighted the various issues such as open defecation, sanitation and cleanliness, education, health, voluntarism and intoxication etc. and he also appealed the youth to take pledge for not using any type of intoxication, tobacco etc.
In the third session the participating youth addressed and discussed their problems and needs such as lack of voluntarism, open defecation, unemployment, poor internet connectivity etc. Suggestions and ideas as to how to solve the discussed problems were given by the resource persons, sources and issues were also identified. In the last session Shri Sanjay Hawlader, Yoga Instructor highlighted the benefit of yoga and demonstrated different types of yoga. At the end of the programme Shri Samir Biswas, Secretary, Biswas Organisation for Social Service, Shantanu proposed vote of thanks.
