Port Blair, Dec 19: On 12.12.2016 in the early morning, a case of attempt to murder was registered at PS Humfrigunj vide FIR No. 77/16 dated 12.12.2016 U/s 307 IPC against one Topra, 50 years, pvt labour R/o Husmatabad for assaulting one Arvind Kiro who had sustained severe head injury and cut on his right ear with wooden button on some petty issue on the late night of 11.12.2016. The accused had absconded from the spot. On receipt of this information, police party reached the spot and evacuated Arvind Kido through ambulance to the PHC Manglutan for treatment from where he was referred to GB Pant Hospital for better treatment. Immediately the accused was apprehended by the police party and later, arrested and produced before the Court of Ld. CJM at Port Blair form where he was sent to judicial remand. During the treatment, the victim succumbed to his injuries in the night of 13.12.2016. Further investigation of the case is in progress.
