Diglipur, Dec 11: The Deputy Commissioner of North and Middle Andaman on Sunday released the compensation amount of Rs.1.5 lakh under Disaster Management Relief Fund to the family of Late. Manoj Roy who drowned in recent flood like situation at Diglipur on Friday. Manoj Roy was chasing a floating drum and while trying to fetch the drum, allegedly drowned in flood waters.
The Body of Late Manoj Roy was recovered on Saturday morning.
The Assistant commissioner, Diglipur Shri. A K Trivedi handed over the Cheque of Rupees 1.5 Lakh to the wife of the deceased today morning at her residence Subhash gram in presence of Pradhan Subhash gram Smti. Alpana Mondal and revenue officials.
