Port Blair, Dec 11 : Mrs. Abala Samaddar, Member Zilla Parishad, Havelock, expressed gratitude and appreciation to the Lt. Governor, A & N Islands, and the team of Administration particularly, A& N police, Fire Brigade, Electricity, DSS, Disaster Management, Revenue Department and ANC for making special efforts for evacuation of tourists stranded at Havelock since 05/12/2016 and initiating remedial action to mitigate the difficulties caused to the villagers due to depression formed over South Bay of Bengal which later intensified into cyclone storm “Vardah” to Port Blair.
She also expressed special appreciation to the Dynamic & young Deputy Commissioner, South Andaman Shri. Udit Prakash Rai and the Chief Secretary Shri. Anindo Mazumdar. The DC, S/A very efficiently handled the situation which has arisen due to the inclement weather conditions. He was very much ready to hear the problems of the public at any time and for its redressal.
