Port Blair, June 06: Dr. R B Rai, Principal Scientist of Indian Veterinary Research Institute (IVRS), Bareli, Uttar Pradesh today said that he is ready to offer all his expertise and recent ‘agro-horticulture breakthrough’ technologies for people of Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
Dr. Rai, who had worked in Andaman and Nicobar Islands for a long and time and was also the Director of Central Agricultural Research Institute (CARI) Andaman and Nicobar Islands, told media person during an information meeting that it is only because of these Islands, he has been able to achieve breakthrough in developing low cost technologies, which will be beneficial for agri-horticulture and veterinary sectors.
Dr. Rai has already got one of his technologies, “Mineral Based Estrous Induction Technology” patented in the name of IVRI and his entire team.
“Two more technology related to Vam Fungus and Bacillus bacteria will be sent for patent very soon. I am ready to share these technologies with people of Andaman and Nicobar Islands at my own cost, if desired as I could achieve all these only because of the experiences, I had gained from these Islands. I still consider myself as an Islander,” Dr. Rai added.
Dr. Rai added that with Mineral Based Estrous Induction Technology, has 80 percent pregnancy rate in cattle and livestock, which would be very beneficial for farmers. He has also developed several other technologies viz SIS, SIFS, which are designed in such a way that farmers could earn maximum profit even if they don’t have enough agriculture land or are totally landless.
