Port Blair, Nov 11: The Athletic and Science team which went to Odisha to participate in the Regional athletic meet and Science Exhibition participated by five states of the region returned to school with thirty two prizes in the form of medals, Trophies and certificates of outstanding performance.
On 11/11/16 Shri B. Eswar Rao, Chairperson of PBMC distributed the prizes and certificates to the winners in the Sharda Mandap of SSVM, Prothrapur, Port Blair.
The individual participants were given the opportunity to express the experience of this venture outside the island territory. All the speakers highlighted the activities which were carried out in the competition at two venues. The speaker students also appreciated the leadership of the State Coordinator Shri Gupteswar Thanapati who led the team to Odisha.
The Children’s Day was also celebrated together with the above prize distribution ceremony. The students and teachers spoke on various aspects of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru as a politician and Prime Minister of India. Shri S.K. Singh, Academic Advisor of SSVM spoke about the importance of Children’s Day and how Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru glanced the talents of future generation posterities. He visualized in children future scientist, technologist, leaders, educationist and makers of the country. He visualized versatile genius among children and the nation paid much respect to him and attached Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru with children and his birthday is called Children’s Day. Mr. Singh highlighted Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru as first Prime Minister of India with qualities Owing to the continuous holidays the celebration was done some earlier to pay respect to the first Prime Minister of India.
At the end the Vice Principal of SSVM Shri Ajay Kumar proposed vote of thanks.
