Port Blair, Nov 11: In order to address and ascertain the issues raised by the public from time to time, the Dy. Commissioner along with the Pradhan and other PRIs members visited Tushnabad Village. Various sites were inspected and after inspection some crucial decisions were taken as the retaining wall constructed by Zilla Parishad at Habdipur was inspected, which is in very bad shape due to road sliding and required earth filling. DC assured to do the needful for providing earth; Pradhan requested to cutting/ pruning of dangerous tree at Habdipur on road side constructed by Zilla Parishad.
DC stated that matter will be taken up with Zilla Parishad to do the needful for immediate cutting/ pruning of trees; DC inspected the play ground of Govt. Primary School at Habdipur, which required development. DC informed that after getting NOC from Education Department, the work will be taken under MGNREGA and shall be started on 12/11/2016; Demanded for school bus from Habdipur to Port Mout; Requested for construction of kitchen shed in the community hall at Habdipur. Panchayat intend to undertake the work; The old bus stand is in a depilated condition. Pradhan requested to set apart the land for construction of Aganwadi. DC assured to take appropriate action; DC inspected the road from Balughat to Kabristhan road, which is in a bad shape. DC ensured to take up the work under MGNREGA; Heightening, widening and renovating of road in Bengali Basti; Requested for set apart of land for construction of play ground near Patwarkhana at Habdipur. DC assured to do the needful and work will be taken up under MGNREGA; It was informed that for providing potable water from Mistry kona to Bengali Basti estimate was already submitted by APWD; Pradhan requested to set apart / demarcation of land for Govt. Primary School, Tushnabad for development of play ground under MGNREGA; It was also brought to the knowledge of DC that , the community hall constructed since one year by Zilla Parishad is not being utilised due to revenue share issues between ZP and Panchayat. DC asked Pradhan to come to a settlement and make the hall functional within a month; DC inspected the Sr. Sec. School, Tushnabad and found that the mid day meal shed is not functional due to non electrification. Further, the school building and play ground required renovation/ maintenance. DC assured to take up the matter with the concerned authority; DC directed the Principal/ Head Mater/ JE/ Contractor of the schools to make all the mid day meal shed functional in all aspects by the 1st week of December and intend to inaugurate the same; DC also visited the old police outpost, which is at present non-functional. Pradhan requested to make the police outpost functional keeping in view the recent law & order issues in the area and Requested to set apart the land at Tushnabad Junction for construction of developmental infrastructural facilities for revenue generation to the Panchyat. DC assured to do the needful.
