Port Blair, Nov 09: The Officiating Chairperson, A&N UTCPCR Smt. Kiran Tigga on her week long programme to North & Middle Andaman, the villagers of Diglipur area raised the issue of Andaman fever.
The villagers of Diglipur area are suffering from Andaman fever and till date near about 12 inhabitants of the area died due to Andaman fever. In recent days two children of a family died due to Andaman fever from Ram Nagar, Diglipur. The Andaman fever mostly occurs during the period from September to November while crop wounding is done.
Smt. Kiran Tigga, Officiating Chairperson, A&N UTCPCR had a telephonic conversation with the Director of Health Services regarding the issue and the Director (Health Services) assured the Officiating Chairperson that a health camp will be set up in Diglipur area along with the sufficient Doctors.
