Port Blair, Nov 02: A senior officer of the Punjab National Bank has arrived in these islands today and met the customers who had put allegations on one staff of the bank of financial fraud against them.
Talking to Andaman Sheekha over phone, one of the victims of financial fraud said that the officer tried to convince them in all aspects but the officer only assured them verbally that the bank will suspend the concerned staff.
The victims alleged that when they asked an action taken letter and also when they asked him that whether the bank will clear the formalities and clear their names from defaulters’ list, the officer changed the topic.
Recently a large number of customers of Punjab National Bank have alleged that without their knowledge one staff of Punjab National Bank have sanctioned loan, in their name.
Silence from the side of Bank shows that the matter is much bigger than what it appears. This incident has left many questions unanswered. How one officer can alone sanction so many loans without knowledge of seniors? How many officials of PNB knew about this fraud? Whether this particular lady is made scapegoat? Why the bank is not taking any legal steps?
