Port Blair, Nov 3: The Department of Environment and Forest, South Andaman Division conducted a “Crocodile Awareness Programme” in association with Gram Panchayat Mannarghat at Community Hall, Malapuram on Thursday. Around 125 villagers were present on the occasion.
Mr Sukumar Dey, Forest Guard interacted with the participants and provided information on the behaviour of Crocodiles, precaution to be adopted while venturing into crocodiles habitats. He also requested the fishermen community to take preventive steps to avoid human-crocodile encounters. The Pradhan, Gram Panchayat Mannarghat, Mr O. Bashir was also present on the occasion.
