Port Blair, Aug 10: The Nicobar District Police in coordination with Fire Station Car Nicobar, Police Radio CN, and IRBn, STS department, Health service etc. conducted a mock drill on terrorist attack at Pump House/RO Plant, Car Nicobar under the supervision of Superintendent of Police, Mr Deepak Yadav,. Te mock drill was followed by an extensive debriefing session at Command Room SP (D) Nicobar office, Car Nicobar.
A scenario was created where a few terrorists attacked the Pump House with intention to sabotage the water supply system of the island. Information was immediately relayed to all concerned agencies and after laying a cordon of the attacked facility, the core strike team of IRBn commandos made tactical building intervention and neutralized the terrorists. The purpose behind holding such an exercise was to check the operational readiness of all agencies to meet such an eventuality. The exercise was fruitful and necessary steps will be taken to remove the shortcoming noted during the exercise/ mock drill.
