Port Blair, Aug 10: The result of the 1st batch of MBBS students of Andaman & Nicobar Islands of Medical Sciences was declared yesterday. Out of 91 students who have appeared for the 1st year university exams, 61 students were declared passed with the overall pass percentage of 67%. Among them, 89% of the students secured 1st class in the said examinations.
Ms. Tasleen Banu K topped the examinations with an astounding 77.3% marks securing distinction in all the 3 subjects of Anatomy, Physiology and Biochemistry. Ms. Balambika Somu Iyyappan stood second with 74.7% marks with distinction in Biochemistry and Ms. Pranjali Pandey stood 3rd with 74.6% marks and distinction in Physiology.
The college was established in the year 2015, with the aim of opening up the opportunities for Medical Education to the aspiring students of Andaman & Nicobar Islands. Though the college (ANIIMS) is in its initial infancy, A&N Administration has provided good infrastructure and facilities to cater to the needs of the students. This result has been achieved due to the hard work put in by the students, sincere and dedicated efforts of faculty members and with the constant support and encouragement from the A&N Administration.
