Port Blair, Aug 7: The Andaman & Nicobar State Cooperative Union (ANSCU) organized a function for the distribution of Certificate in Beautician course at Sippighat Workshed Community Hall today. Mr. Ramesh Verma, Secretary (Cooperation)-cum-RCS, A&N Admn was the Chief Guest on the occasion. The programme was also attended by Mr. Kuldeep Rai Sharma, Chairman, ANSCU, Mr. Hament Songadkar, GM, NABARD, Mr. Subir Chander, Up-Adhyaksh, Zilla Parishad (SA), Mr. Sanjib Kumar Mondal, ZP Member (Mithakhari), Mr. Ram Govind, ZP Member (Sippighat), Mr. Vincent Walter, Pradhan, Sippighat Panchayat, Mrs. Sheela, Samiti Member, Representatives of Cooperative Institutions, eminent citizens, SHG members, villagers and local residents of the area.
Welcoming the Chief Guest and other delegates, Mr. Kuldeep Rai Sharma, Chairman, ANSCU informed that ANSCU commenced training programme at Sippighat Panchayat with the support of NABARD two months ago, which has now culminated for certificate distribution. A total of 32 participants have attended the Beautician course at Sippighat. He thanked NABARD in assisting ANSCU to arrange such programme. He further informed that ANSCU is conducting training at various places to generate self employment and help the needy persons to improve their socio-economic life. He also informed that ANSCU is conducting training programmes in various sectors like Tailoring & Fashion designing, Beauty Parlor, Computer, etc.
The Chief Guest, Mr. Ramesh Verma, in his key note address has conveyed his best wishes to the participants for their successful completion of training programme on Beautician course. He further appreciated the initiatives of ANSCU in skill development. Self- employment, he said, is good, as the jobs in govt sector is reducing day by day. He urged the ANSCU to continue their efforts and also explore opportunities in SHGs for activities like Papad making, Pickle, Masala items, etc. Among others, Mr. Vincent Walter, Pradhan, Sippighat, Mr. Hament Songadkar, GM, NABARD, also aaddressed the gathering.
