Port Blair, Aug 07: The Member of Parliament Mr. Bishnu Pada Ray appeared before the ‘Aap Ki Adaalat’ at Burmanaalah community hall yesterday. Large number of People from Chidiya Tapu, Kodiyaghat and Beodnabad turned up for the Adalaat. People asked various questions related to the development of the Islands, to which Mr. Ray responded.
Replying to a question on Rural road Mr. Ray informed that the Govt. has revived the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojna which was started by the Mr. Vajpayi’s Govt. The width of the rural roads have now been increased from 3 mtrs to 5.5 mts. On the issue of BPL, Mr. Ray said that in the last survey conducted during UPA Govt, many eligible people were left out. But now the Govt is thinking of conducting detailed survey.
The MP informed that the visionary Power minister Mr. Piyush Goyal has already approved the solar power project for the Islands at Kodiyaghat. The dependency on Diesel will be reduced and the Islands will march towards a clean and green environment. He said that the LNG Petro net is going to set up plant at Shore point and the dream of getting gas through pipelines will become a reality.
To a question asked about the compensation, when the work of National Highway will begin, the MP said that the concerned people will be given compensation as 4th times of the present market rate. He noted down the problems of the people and said he will take up their issues at appropriate level in Administration
Earlier in the programme MP explained about the various projects undertaken like National Highway, CRF funds etc. through power point presentation. The Pradhan of the Beodnabad Panchayat Smti V. Shanti proposed vote of thanks and said it’s a welcome initiative taken by the MP to reach out to the rural areas and update people about the recent developments. Moreover People get the opportunity to present their grievances too in such programmes.This is MP’s 3rd “Aap Ki Adalat” in the series.
