Port Blair, Aug 7: To reduce stress and overcome difficulties being faced by Police Fire Service personnel, a workshop on “Easy meditation for busy people” was organised for the benefit of the fire fighters with the support of Prajapita Brahma Kumaris, Ishwariya Vishwa Vidyalaya, Goal Ghar at Fire Service (HQs) on Saturday. The faculties and Sisters from the said vidyalaya have explained that the meditation is a great tool for inner development, well being, stability, creativity and optimum tapping of one’s potential and meditation can greatly contribute to the development of any team. Further, they guided the Fire Service personnel to practice the simple practical methods of meditating to enhance effectiveness.
Mr . B. Saigal, Chief Fire Officer, A&N Islands also attended the workshop. He applauded the staff present in the workshop to cherish their family – the young ones at home as well as the grownups at the level of our society, organization, community, country and world at large. He further urged that this is the time and correct occasion to give promise to self to give-up the habit of consumption of alcohol, chewing tobacco and pan, smoking etc. At the end of the session, some officers and men have come forward and pleaded to give-up the bad habits like Smoking, Consuming liquor and Chewing Pan/Tobacco.
At the end, Sisters tied Rakhi and distributed positive message cards and homemade sweets to the staff. Altogether, 93 Fire Service personnel have attended the workshop and benefitted from the discourse.
