Port Blair, July 17: Nicobar District Police in collaboration with Nicobar Athletic Association (NAA) organized a Body Building Championship-2016 hunt for “Mr. Carnic” and “Mr. Carnic Junior” on 15th July 2016 at Priyadarshini Hall, Tamaloo Stadium at 5:30 pm. Altogether 15 entries for Mr. Carnic and nine entries for Mr. Carnic Junior were received from different villages of Car Nicobar.
The main objective for organizing the event was to bring health consciousness among the people of Nicobar who are being blessed with good symmetry and muscularity and filled with great enthusiasm which has been showcase during the competition.
Large number of villagers turned up to witness the event with great enthusiasm. Shri. Rufus of Mus Village and Shri. Anand Chandra, student of JNV won the title of Mr. Carnic and Mr. Carnic Junior respectively whereas Shri. Lio Robby of Perka Village and Shri. Phlipose of Perka stood 1st and 2nd runner-up in Mr. Carnic category and Shri. Peter of Kakana village and Shri. David Beckhame of Perka village conceded the position of 1st and 2nd runner-up in Mr. Carnic Junior category respectively.
Smti Neha Bansal, Deputy Commissioner, Nicobar District who was the Chief Guest and Shri. Paul Benjamin, 1st Captain of Tamaloo Village who was the Guest of Honour on the occasion, gave away cash prize, trophy and certificates to the winners. The vote of thanks was given by Shri. Deepak Yadav, IPS, SP(D) Nicobar to each and every concerned department and appreciated the support extended by Shri. Davidson, General Secretary, Nicobar Athletic Association for organizing the event.
