Port Blair, Apr 27: The Chairperson, Port Blair Municipal Council Smti Sheela Singh alongwith Smti.Rubana Aziz, Councillor Ward No-18 today on 27th April 2016 inspected graveyards Ward No-18. The Superintending Engineer and Executive Engineer (Works) of the Council were also present during the inspection.
Smti.Rubana Aziz highlighted about various issues pertaining to her ward. After hearing the issues Chairperson suggested to take up minimum mandatory requirement of works like providing last rituals shed, approach path and water facilities at the Graveyards at the earliest. She also expressed to take up the fencing works all graveyards in a longtime project.
The team visited one vacant land inside the residential area of the ward was ward Councilor suggested for a community park there. Superintending Engineer, Municipal Council directed the concerned Assistant Engineer to put up the estimate of the works at the earliest. He also issued direction to take up lighting facilities also in the estimate so that the work should be composite work.
The team then visited old panchayat house at Garacharma-I were the demand to construct a Multipurpose hall is reviewed. Executive e Engineer (Wks) appraised that the whole area is already surveyed and proposal for new Multiplex with different and multiple services will be prepared in consultation with Architect and Superintending Engineer, Municipal Council, The EE(WKS) also stated that the cost of the project will be evaluated and placed before the competent authority for according approval and to get sanction for fund from A& N Administration.
