Port Blair, April 17: The Coast Guard Region(A&N) will further enhance its fleet by accretion of one OPV (Offshore Patrol Vessel) ICGS Vishwast and one FPV (Fast Patrol Vessel) ICGS Rajveer on April 18, 2016. Inspector General Kuldip Singh Sheoran, PTM,TM, Commander Coast Guard Region(A&N) will formally welcome and induct the vessels in the Coast Guard flotilla of the A&N Region. Earlier on March 27, the A & N Coast Guard region witnessed the rebasing of one FPV, ICGS Rajkamal and six Coast Guard interceptor boats. In order to enhance the maritime surveillance and close Coast Operations and considering the strategic location and importance of A&N Island, the accretion will enhance the vigil and security around the A&N Islands.
