Port Blair, April 17: Kolkata-bound Spice Jet flight had to make an emergency landing at the Port Blair city airport after nearly two hours of its take off from the same airport today because of suspected fuel leakage deducted in the plane.
As per sources, the flight took off for Kolkata at around 03:00 pm and was in the air at Andaman Region for nearly two hours after which the flight landed on the City Airport. The flight kept on flying over Andaman because the flight had full fuel and the Captain had to burn the fuel to reduce the weight of the aircraft, which is fit for landing.
According to sources, the passengers were disembarked from the flight immediately after the flight grounded. When the last report poured in the technicians were trying to rectify the technical problem. Passengers were also at airport till 9.00 PM, when the last input came.
