Port Blair, Feb 02: A two months skill training programme on coir based handicraft to the Rural SHG Members of Yuvasakthi has been underway from 01st February, 2016 at three venues viz Mannarghat Gram Panchayat, Yuvasakthi Resource Centre Bambooflat and Panchayat hall at Neil Island.
Conducted under the aegis of Coir Board (MSME, Govt. of India), SRO, Port Blair, each of these training centres will impart skill training on coir based handicrafts to 20 participants and altogether 60 members will be benefitting by this programme. The inaugural session of the programme at Mannarghat Gram Panchayat was held on 01st Feb., 2016 and wherein Shri O.Bashir, Pradhan Gram Panchayat inaugurated the training.
Mr. Bhima Rao field Assistant, coir board briefed the gathering about the training programme and also elicited that, the ultimate the aim of imparting such programmes is to empower the participants with required skills so that, they can be turned into entrepreneurs in the field of Coir. The training would run concurrently for two months in all the three Centres till 31st March, 2016.
