Port Blair, Nov 08: The general body meeting of Sree Shakti Vinayagar Temple, Dairyfarm was held on Sunday amid adequate police arrangements led by Sub-Inspector, Mr Vishwanathan. The meeting Mr C Velu as President, Mr C Natarajan as Vice President, Mr Murthy as Youth President, Mr V Marimuthu as Secretary, Mr Siva Kumar as Youth Secretary and Mr K Subramaniam as Treasurer of the temple committee for a three year term. About 127 males and 87 females of Dairyfarm.
The elections were held under the supervision of Municipal Councillor, Ward no. 9, Smt Anusiya Devi, Municipal Councillor, Ward no. 14, Mr Eshwar Rao, Municipal Councillor, Ward no. 15, Mr CH Babu.
The residents of the area had been demanding reconstitution of the temple committee after the demise of its President, Mr K Krishnan in July this year. Accordingly, the general body meeting was notified by the temple committee and the elections held today. The newly elected Secretary of the Committee has expressed gratitude to Police, Municipal Councillors and other for the support rendered for the smooth conduct of the elections.
