Port Blair, Oct 11: “World Mental Health Day 2015” with the theme “Dignity in Mental Health” was observed in a befitting manner by VHAI-Aparajita in the office premises.
The seminar on “Mental Health-Adolescents” was attended by 35 students of VKV & KV No.2 along with teachers of respective schools. Dr. Mitesh Behari, Psychiatrist, G.B.Pant Hospital enlightened the students and teachers on mental stress and the means to cop up with stressful situation. Students and teachers participated in interactive session on frequently asked questions on this topic.
Later Dr.Avijit Roy, Deputy Director, Health, Directorate of Health Services, elaborated on problems and solutions related to mental and physical stress of adolescents. Sri Mrinmoy Chatterjee of VHAI-Aparajita in his address narrated on the theme and suggested simple but effective means to combat stressful life of adolescents. Teacher and Student representatives of both the schools expressed their gratitude for organizing the seminar on such a vital social issue.
