Port Blair, Sept 11: Continuing its fight against eve teasing, the staff of Crime Against Women (CAW) Cell, A&N Police conducted a special drive recently. The Private Buses were checked at different locations in Port Blair and Bus Drivers/Conductors were sensitized to report to the CAW Cell or nearest Police Station about any incident relating to eve teasing.
Awareness programme was conducted at Sr. Sec. Boys School on Domestic violence, women/girls, Molestation/eve-teasing, attempt to commit suicide related offences and cyber offences. Further, Do’s and Don’ts with respect to such offences were explained to students of IXth & Xth standard. Another team of CAW Cell invigilated near the Gyan Kendra coaching centre to monitor any complaint of eve teasing. Also a team conducted patrolling at evening hours near Sai Girls Hostel and B. Ed. Girls Hostel to maintain a safe environment for girls.
