Port Blair, Aug 14: All is set for the 69th Independence Day celebrations tomorrow. The main function for the day will be held at the historic Netaji Stadium wherein the Lt. Governor, Lt. Gen (Retd) A.K. Singh, PVSM, AVSM, SM, VSM will hoist the National tricolour at 9 am when there will also be fly-past by helicopter carrying National Flag, followed by Helicopter and showering of flower petals.
As per tomorrow’s programme, after inspecting the guard of honour, the Lt. Governor will give away medals, gallantry awards and commendation certificates and also address the Islanders.
Before arrival at the Netaji Stadium for the main function, the Lt. Governor will visit National Memorial Cellular Jail and place wreath at the Martyr’s Column.
