Port Blair, Aug 13: The NCC Junior Division (Army) cadets of GSSS, Havelock led by NCC teacher, Mr. Prakash Howladar conducted a cleanliness drive between State Bank of India and GSSS Havelock on Wednesday. More than 1000 kg solid garbage particularly empty glass wine bottles, plastic water & soft drink bottles, plastic packing paper etc. were collected from the main road. An appeal was made to the islanders of Havelock to keep the island clean by throwing garbage in proper places, dustbin etc. The Gram Pradhan of Govinda Nagar Panchyat, Mr Ranjan Samaddar and the school teacher Mr. Ajay Roy supported the initiative.
