Port Blair, July 27: The 60th Formation Day of Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh (BMS) was celebrated on July 23 at Auto Stand, Bambooflat and near the Suryachakra Power House Corporation, Bambooflat. Members of Suryachakra Power House Shramik Karmachari Union and Bharatiya Jantha Auto Sangh affiliated to BMS, A & N Islands participated in the celebration. The Patron of the Unions, Mr Vishal Jolly planted saplings in front of Suryachakra Power House Corporation.
In his address, Mr Jolly elaborated about the formation of BMS and threw light on the life and works of former President of BMS, Mr Dattopant Ji Thengdi. He urged the members of the Unions to take inspiration from the works of Mr Thengdi and work hard for the welfare of working class and poor people of the Islands. Earlier, the BMS State Organizing Secretary, Mr M Veerana welcomed the gathering. The State General Secretary, BMS, Mr Ashok Kumar proposed the vote of thanks.
