Port Blair, July 26: The State Team of Tunighata People’s Movement of Human Rights Welfare Association, Andaman Branch has written a letter to the Prime Minister of India Mr. Narendra Modi. The team tried to draw the attention of Prime Minister about the injustice with one of Islanders of Ramnagar, under Diglipur Tehsil, namely Shri. Naren Das, from the competent authority of North Andaman on the issue of illegal possession on land since 1990.
But, recently in the absence of family members of Shri. Das some peoples tried to capture the said land using fencing. When Mr. Das and his well-wishers approached to concerned Patwari of Ramnagar and higher authority of North Andaman for removal of fence, Mr. Das didn’t get the solution instead threat of some action from said Patwari, Mr. Parimal Halder.
The team of TPMHRWA already made a request earlier to the North & Middle Andaman Administration for the solution to above dispute immediately but no action was taken in this case, the TPMHRWA alleged.
The TPMHRWA has requested the PM to direct the concerned authorities to solve the issue urgently and requested to provide justice on adverse possession on land to Mr. Das as per Supreme Court Order and rule according to Article 64, 65, with section 24, schedule I of The Indian Limitation Act. The team also prayed to PM for a strict action against said Patwari of Ramnagar for his trial of injustice to Mr. Das.
