Port Blair, July 22: The Andaman & Nicobar Police department in coordination with the Health Department has taken up a great initiative of helping the senior citizens, needy, weak and helpless patients, who come to G B Pant hospital for their treatment.
According to reports, thrice in a week, a team of ANP jawans in coordination with the Health Department will be available at G B Pant Hospital gate for helping the patients, especially those who are weak and old.
Talking to Andaman Sheekha, the Deputy Superintendent of Police, South Andaman, Mr. Mohd. Aslam said that it’s a part of training to the jawans. He said that the police jawans will also try to trace out families members, who don’t come along with old patients in Hospitals and leave old parents alone. Mohd. Aslam said that the police jawans will also prepare a report regarding this issue and later police department will try to solve the problems.
“Police department not only deals with crime but also takes part in social activities and it’s the job of every citizen to commit themselves for social cause,” Mr. Aslam added.
