Port Blair, July 22: Noted Film Maker and Theatre Director of these islands, Mr Naresh Chander Lal, returned to station after a successful trip to United Kingdom recently. During his two and a half month visit to Liverpool, Mr Lal presented the DVDs of his films, Gandhi-The Mahatma, Amrit Jal, Runway on the Sea and promotional video of The Queen of Indigenous Island and copies of the February 2015 edition of Andaman Legacy to the Head of the Central Library of Liverpool, Professor Clark Anderson for exhibition in the Library.
During his stay at United Kingdom, Mr Lal also met Britishers, Ian Austine and Eileen Boomgart Arnell, who were posted at Nicobar during 1954-55 at Royal Airforce. Eileen’s father was the Deputy Commissioner of Nicobar before Independence and Eileen was born in Andaman. The Director of Gandhi Peace Centre, Australia, also recommended the screening of the movie, Gandhi-The Mahatma on Jan 30, 2016 at Australia, according to information.
