Diglipur, Feb 27: Andaman & Nicobar State cooperative Union in association with national Cooperative union of India and Coop Education field project pf Port Blair jointly hold a District Level Seminar on Coop. for Rural Community Development held today on 27th Feb, 2015 at Panchayat Hall at Subhash gram, Diglipur.
The Chief Guest Shri Satish Chander Nath Executive Engineer, APWD, Diglipur inaugurated the seminar by lightening the lamp. Shri Anand Rao, General Secretary, A & N State Coop. Union welcomed the gathering. Shri Surendra Nath Singh, Project Officer NCUI-CEFP, A & N Islands, Pramukh Shri Gauranga Dutta , Panchayat Samiti, Shri. P R Singaram, Pradhan Gram Panchayat Subhash Gram, Diglipur spoke on this occasion.
Mrs. Shirly Thomas , Asst Director, Agriculture described about the importance of Organic farming in Islands. Mr. Abdul Haneef, IPO, Diglipur highlighted about Various Employment generation pragrammes . Other issues like scope and potential for Coop /SHG for Deep sea & Island Fishing, Benefits available for Dairy development and Self Help Group linkage programmes were discussed during the seminar.
