Port Blair, Feb 09: Seven persons were arrested by the team of Special Branch (CID) on 08/02/2015 evening.
In pursuance of tough action against illegal activities, a team comprising of ASI Rakesh Singh, Head Constable Ibrahim Ali, S. Thimmiraj, Constable Soman Biswas, Milton Paul, Senthil Kumar and Birbal Ram of Special Branch (CID), on a tip of information, conducted a raid at GSSS Bhatu Basti play ground stadium and arrested seven persons namely M. Raja Kumar (37) R/o Bhatu Basti, K. Dharma Raj (32) R/o Garacharma, G. Anand (22) R/o Supply Line, G. Jagdish (27) R/o Bhatu Basti, A. Rajesh (24) R/o Bhatu Basti, Sunder Raj (23) R/o Bhatu Basti and K. Chinnaiah (27) R/o Bhatu Basti and recovered Rs 7,600/- (Rupees seven thousand six hundred only) from the spot. They were challaned under the Andaman & Nicobar Gambling Regulation.
