Rangat, Nov 24: A village road, which was constructed recently at Rangat now wears look of a pond. According to reports the road, nearly 913 mtrs in length was constructed recently spending Rs. 1,71,330 between Hawamahal and Dasharatpur by Zilla Parishad.
Within one year the road got completely damaged and in some places the potholes has grown to the size of craters. The road is not only causing inconvenience to public but also causing accidents.
Public allege that they have urged AE and JE of Zilla Parishad in several occasions to repair the road but till now no action has been initiated by the Zilla Parishad to repair the road. People allege that it is only the Engineers and the Contractors, who get benefit from such bad village roads.
When Andaman Sheekha contacted the JE of Zilla Parishad, he said that the Contractor has already been asked to repair the road but the Contractor is not paying any heed.
In that case the Villagers urge the Chairperson of North and Middle Zilla Parishad to take legal action against the contractor and recover the money.
