Car Nicobar, Oct 20: Even as the introduction of flight service connecting the national capital to the remotest district of the country marked a milestone for the administration, residents of the Nicobar groups of islands was piqued over the ordeal being faced for booking of tickets at Car Nicobar. In the absence of proper seating arrangements, hundreds of intending passengers face hardships by standing for hours without food and water to book a ticket. Moreover, the ticking counter which operates for only few hours, leads to serpentine queues since early morning and many are left dejected till their turns arrive.
According to information, the Ticket Booking Counter at Car Nicobar operates from 3 pm from Monday to Wednesday for the Thursday flight. With the Car Nicobar-Port Blair-Delhi sector becoming an instant hit among the residents of the southern group of islands, hundreds of passengers queue since early morning to book tickets.
However, the Booking Counter opens only after 3 pm.
