Port Blair, Oct 13: The Member of Parliament, Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Mr Bishnu Pada Ray today distributed appointment letters to the staff nurses selected by the NGO Ekam for one year contract to perform duties in the Government hospitals of Chattisgarh and Chennai.
During the event the MP told the newly recruited nurses not to worry about anything. He said he will go to Chattisgarh and Chennai along with the candidates to leave them to the joining places. “Think this year as a war, to get settled in life. Going to mainland and performing there will make you learn, you all will get exposure, more opportunities will come for you,” MP added.
NGO Ekam has a requirement of 90 staff nurses but due to lack of advertisements they didn’t receive many applications. They have received altogether 45 applications, out of which the NGO selected only 17 staff nurses.
Therefore the NGO has requested, interested staff nurses to submit their application in the Amrita Hospital as they will come back soon for their selection.
