Port Blair, Sept 29: Objecting to the press release issued by Administration and the news item published in local media regarding Permanent Campus of ANCOL, the Member of Parliament of A & N Islands, Mr. Bishnu Pada Ray today said that he was unaware of the decision of setting up ANCOL Campus at Chakkargaon.
“I have no hesitation to conclude and believe this news item has been published with the intention to malign my image before the general public, to create friction and infighting with my party President and also to malign the image of the government. Inclusion of my name and making it appear as if MP’s consent is also there in the decision without actually so, is a clear case amounting to breach of privilege,” the MP said in a letter addressed to Secretary Education.
Further, the MP has requested the Secretary Education to clarify the official position in this regard.
He said in his letter that a few days back during his interactions with the higher ups of the Administration, he was given to understand that the site at Nayagaon has been earmarked for setting up of housing complex for the weaker section and landless in the society and no firm decision has yet been taken to finalization of location for ANCOL.
In his letter he has also demanded all documents related to finalization of the site for ANCOL Campus at Chakkargaon.
