Port Blair, Sept. 08: Applications from eligible persons for availing subsidy have been invited by the Department of Fisheries under UT Plan. The schemes under which the assistance will be extended include renovation of fisher’s house or replacement of roofs or thatching of roofs; purchase of motorized/mechanized fishing boats; and purchase of new fish transport vehicle. The last date for submission of applications for availing subsidy has been extended up to Sept. 25, 2014, a communication from the Director of Fisheries said.
