Mayabunder, Aug 19: Everybody is aware about the tragic end of the Musth elephant of Mohanpur area, Sanjeev Prasad. The Musth elephant had not only kept North Andaman area hostage for more than seven days but also killed on forest officer.
But not many know about yet another story of a victim of Mohanpur Forest. The sad story behind the high voltage ‘Musth Elephant’ dram was not reported till today.
The story is about Mr. Devsai Beck a retired Forest Corporation employee and resident of Hari Bay, under Diglipur Tehsil .
According to reports Mr. Beck came to Austin I, near Chengappa Bridge for his routine work of private labourer on 27th July. After finishing his work he was forced to halt at his friend’s house at Pokadera due to the road blockage because of elephant attack.
Worried about his house, on 29 July, Mr. Beck decided to walk towards his house, as there was no vehicle on road. He walked all the way from Mayabunder to check availability of any transport by sea to his area.
Sadly since that day nobody has seen him. Worried family members and relatives searched for him in every corner of forest but till now they got no trace. Further, a police complain has been launched in this regard at the Police Station, Kalighat on 12.08.2014.
Now the question remains that why the said missing person has not been not traced yet? Why a combing operation was not ordered to locate him from North Andaman forest? Was he attacked by the Musth Elephant in Mohanpur Jungle? How a man can vanish in thin air?
