Port Blair, Apr 24: A spotted deer, which had reportedly escaped from Ross Island and somehow reached Machi Line area, has become talk of the town. According to reports, several people have seen the spotted dear grazing in JNRM and Machi Line area since April 16, 2014.
Even after report, the forest department could not even locate the spotted dear for nearly a week. Finally today following some information provided by public the deer was captured by forest officials and taken to Mini Zoo Haddo. It is believed that the deer will be sent back to Ross Island soon. But the million dollar question remains that why and how the deer escaped from Ross Island.
