Port Blair, Apr 21: The new Administrative block of Coast Guard District Headquarters No.9 Diglipur was inaugurated by Air Marshal PK Roy, PVSM, AVSM, VM, VSM, ADC, The Commander-in-Chief Andaman & Nicobar Command in the presence of Inspector General VSR Murthy, PTM,TM Commander Coast Guard Region (A&N) on 21 Apr 14. Brig Anil Singh, Chief Engineer A&N Zone, Mrs Jyoti Muruthy, President Tatrakshika (A & N) and Commandant Arun Singh, Commander, Coast Guard District Headquarters No.9 were also present on the occasion.
The Admin block is part of new OTM and Married accommodation project at Aerial Bay, Diglipur at a cost of Rs.18.44 Crores. The project consists of Admin Block, Comstan , MRSC, MI Room, Canteen cum shopping complex, Community Hall, CG Officers Mess, sailors inliving accommodation and Married accommodation for officers and EP. Air Marshal PK Roy expressed his deep satisfaction with the infrastructure development of Coast Guard at all stations spread across the A&N Islands.
The CINCAN also appreciated the dedicated efforts put in by the Commander District Headquarters No. 9 and MES authorities for transforming the existing area into Excellent Defence establishment, overcoming all odds, in order to enhance operational capabilities of the District Headquarters.
