Port Blair, Jan 07: The workers of the Andaman & Nicobar Forest & Plantation Development Corporation Limited today organized a Hunger strike infront of Van Vikas Bhawan, Haddo protesting against the pending wages of the workers, which are not been paid till date.
Main demands of agitating employees of ANFPDCL are to extend benefits of sixth CPC to all employees, transfer of ownership of corporation from MoEF to A & N UT Administration and Regular & Timely payment of salary/wages to all employees.
They expressed their anger towards the A&N administration and have planned to continue the same till their demands are fulfilled.
Regarding this matter, a number of token strikes have already been conducted by the employees of ANFPDCL but till now no relief came for the employees. The workers also have now also planned to organize a rally from Van Vikas Bhawan, Haddo to Raj Niwas on 9th January 2014.
Meanwhile the PCCF today visited the agitation site and heard the demands of ANFPDCL workers. PCCF assured that their salary problem is going to be solved in one or two months.
