Port Blair, Jan 05: A delegation of women employees of ANI Forest and Plantation Development Corporation Ltd met the PCC President Kuldeep Rai Sharma at Gandhi Bhavan on 3rd Jan, 2013 and briefed their pathetic condition due to non-payment of salary and wages for last three months. At the outset, Ms Vimala S has recorded sincere thanks on behalf of the women employees to the Lt Governor for considering disbursement of one month salary out of four months and also to Kuldeep for placing their pitiable condition before the Lt Governor for this.
Ms Fulkeria Roy has stated that being the only earning member of her family, she is facing acute hardship due to non disbursement of salary for last three months, which other such co staff are also facing who are the only earning members of their families. Ms Manorama Basak has stated that women are to maintain their families and drew the attention of Kuldeep to appreciate how they can mange their family without money and what they will answer to their dependents to their urgent needs. Ms Anita Rao who led the delegation to the PCC President has stated that many of them are unable to send monitory help to their children studying at mainland and thus passing very gloomy days.
Ms Vijaya Laxmi, Kamala devi have stated the pitiable condition of the poor paid workers who are starving with their dependents.. Kuldeep has given a patient hearing and has stated that he has already sent a fax to the Finance Minister on 2nd January advocating for the welfare of the employees and requested him for early release of loan assistance for payment of salary , wages and other statutory dues and prior to this he had also met and taken up the issue of the ANIFPDCL with the AICC Vice President Rahul Gandhi and Union Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde and demanded for disbursement of uninterrupted salary and wages and handing over the management to the AN Administration. Kuldeep has also stated that the Lt Governor is always favoring the existence of the ANIFPDCL and keeping full sympathy for the employees and workers while the Congress Party is always with the employees of the Corporation and thinking deeply and working constantly to rescue them from this distress.
Kuldeep has also advised them that their approach to get rid of this situation must be positive and with in the law. After that the group also met the Mahila Congress President Shanta Laxman Singh who has assured to render all possible help to them and stated that she feels their sinking nerves and whenever they call her, she will stand beside them.
