Port Blair, Dec 16: The Deputy Commissioner of North and Middle Andaman, Mr. Sanjay Kumar told ‘Andaman Sheekha’ that North Andaman District Administration is filling an FIR against the Dinghy Operators for operating overloaded dinghy.
“Villagers told us that operating dinghy with 25 passengers is normal practice in this area but we are considering it as ‘Overloading’ and filling FIR,” the DC said.
He said that divers of Andaman and Nicobar Command and Helicopter of Indian Coast Guard have returned and they will resume search operation with daybreak tomorrow. “But police will continue the search operation all night,” the DC said.
