Understanding the fact our islands has its own corrupt way of getting things done by govt. officials (not all of them) either by bribing or being asked for bribe.
Here is one officer & her team who proactively approached public & with complaints acted upon individuals who indulged in corrupt practices under the prevailing norms of corrupt practices & they were duly arrested for their offence Yes, talking about the talk of the town Mrs Aslam Khan, IPS officer, SP (ACU), she and her team methodically tried to address being active in the best possible means of social media & urging public to inform & complaint about the corrupt practices.
And general public informed the team cracked on corruption at various parts of our isles, considering this in background, was very optimistic at the outset when our current LG AK Singh took over the constitutional post for our isles, considering it is one of the single post as most powerful unelected representative across India who with good intentions can change upon various issues taking in confidence the bureaucracy into its fold.
His earliest promise was to challenge “corruption” prevailing in our isles, as quoted on August 15th at historic Netaji stadium “will strive to promote a responsive, effective and transparent Administration to the Islanders, with a zero tolerance towards corruption”, but the action has been opposite within charge of few months of the Anti-corruption unit (ACU), this brave officer has been transferred to Police Training School.
Either go down fighting challenging the “status-quo” of the situation or overcome the “status-quo”.
Are we islanders are condemned to “status-quo” in these issues of governance or other urgent issues which has been languishing for attention for quite sometime.
Thanks Mrs Aslam Khan & team for doing your little bit in challenging the status-quo, Your team has the highest sympathy from the islanders trying at your best to change the prevailing situation ultimately succumbing to the pressure from certain quarters who didn’t like to challenge the status quo prevailing in our isles.
And the biggest reminder is that as Lokpal debate catches on again at national level, if at all the Lokpal Bill is passed which remains as status-quo for nearly many decades at parliament; our isles will not have any affect, as UTs has been ambiguously kept out of it & Andaman Islands kept away as farmhouse for corrupt practices?
