Port Blair, Oct 31: Continuing its crackdown on sale of illicit liquor and illegal resale of IMFL, Police have recovered 91 bottles of 750 ml. IMFL hidden in a plastic bag under a bridge near Netaji Nagar Gram Panchayat Office Building in Hutbay. On 28th October PS Hutbay personnel raided the place and seized the IMFL bottles on an information of CID personnel on election duty. A case under Excise Regulation has been registered.
In three more cases on the same day, 80 kgs of Handia and 23 nos. of IMFL bottles were seized and three persons arrested.
Police have launched a strong offensive against illegal liquor in Port Blair & all across the Islands. Public is requested to pass on credible information on narcotics, illegal liquor, gambling etc. on the following telephone numbers: 233077, 232400, 232405, 100 and 9434288546. The informant will be rewarded and his/her identity will be kept secret.
