It is to bring to the notice of all that financial assistance from the Lieutenant Governor’s Relief fund is given to the poor, indigent and other eligible very needy persons to meet their medical expenses and for other causes, such as cases of privation, affected by fire, flood, earthquake, cyclone, sea erosion and similar other natural calamities, to assist the bereaved families of the persons who are killed/attacked by any of the hostile tribes residing in Andaman and Nicobar Islands or person attacked or killed by wild crocodiles or elephants. This Fund is generated from the contributions of people from all walks of life, including Government servants, businessmen, charitable and other organizations, philanthropists as well as the general public. A good number of persons are being granted relief, amounting to lakhs of rupees every year, and the number is increasing every year.
While thanking all those who have contributed generously to the Fund, we appeal to every person, including Government servants, the business community, charitable organizations, philanthropists and the general public to contribute financially in Lt Governor’s Relief Fund in a generous manner in the form of cash, cheque or demand draft drawn in favour of Lt Governor’s Relief Fund, A & N Islands and forward/submit the same to Raj Niwas, to enable the Lieutenant Governor to carry forward this noble work.
Necessary receipts will be issued.
The amount so contributed is 100% deductable from Taxable income, under Section 80 (G) of Income Tax Act, 1961.
