Port Blair, Oct 03: The Financial Literacy Centre of A & N State Cooperative Bank was inaugurated on 2nd October, 2013 by Mr. Bhagat Singh, Chairman, A & N SCB at Mayabunder in presence of Mr. G. Tarai, General Manager,NABARD, Smt. Madhuri Giri, Adhyaksha, Zilla Parishad, N & M Andaman, Mr. Ravinder Rao, Managing Director, ANSCB, PRI members, local residents and a large gathering of the people from Krane Community. The Financial Literacy Centre of the Bank was sponsored by NABARD, Port Blair with the key objective to render awareness on Banking & Financial aspects among the unbanked population of the Islands.
In the beginning, Mr. Ravinder Rao, Managing Director, A & N State Coop. Bank welcomed the gathering and briefed about the benefits of Financial Literacy Centre. Smt. Madhuri Giri, Adhyaksha, N & M Andaman
in her key note address appreciated the initiatives of the Bank in spreading awareness of financial literacy. She further urged the people of the area to take benefits from the Financial Literacy centre and utilise the services of the bank in connecting to the financial services.
In his key note address, Mr. Bhagat Singh, Chairman has urged the people to take maximum benefit of the FLC and improvise their economic conditions. Mr. G. Tarai, GM, NABARD in his brief note expressed his wholehearted appreciation to the Bank and assured of extending support in respect of financial literacy centres for the development of rural masses. The programme ended with Vote of Thanks proposed by Mr. James Paul, Branch Manager, ANSCB, Mayabunder Branch.
A similar function was also held at the North Andaman on 2nd October, 2013 where the Financial Literacy Centre of A & N State Cooperative Bank was inaugurated by Mr. G. Tarai, General Manager, NABARD at Diglipur in presence of Mr. Bhagat Singh, Chairman, A & N SCB, Mr. Haren Roy, Director, ANSCB, Mr. Ravinder Rao, Managing Director, ANSCB, PRI members, local residents and a large gathering of the people.

Tarai, GM, NABARD expressed his satisfaction and urged the public of the local area to utilise the use of FLCs for the awareness of the banking services in rural areas. The programme ended with Vote of Thanks proposed by Mr. B Joga Rao, Branch Manager, Diglipur Branch.
