Port Blair, Oct 03: On 02nd October, 2013 (Wednesday), Gandhi Jayanti was celebrated in the Information Centre, Mayabunder of North & Middle Andaman District in a befitting manner. Ms. R. Menaka, IAS, Asstt. Commissioner, Middle Andaman Sub-Division garlanded the photograph of Mahatma Gandhi. The programme was attended by various Heads of Offices, Institutions, PRI Members, General Public and students of various Schools of Mayabunder. Representatives from various religions recited the chapters from their respective Holy books. Students of Anand Marga School presented Ramdhun. Students of Govt. Primary School and Govt. Model Senior Secondary, Mayabunder presented poems on the life of Gandhiji. Dr. A.K. Pandey, Asstt. Professor (Anthropology), Mahatma Gandhi Govt. College, Mayabunder breifed about the life of Mahatma Gandhi.
