Port Blair, Aug 08: Here comes Monday with some really disturbing news for candidates who are waiting for the competitive exams of Steno and LGC. The Competitive exam for the post of Steno was scheduled on Sunday September 1st 2013 while the exam for the post of LGC was scheduled on 15th September 2013 but now Andaman Sheekha has learnt that the Staff Selection Commission (SSC) may postpone both the exams, for some administrative reasons.
Highly placed sources from New Delhi has already confirmed that intimation over phone has already been passed to the Secretariat but no written confirmation has been dispatched yet by the SSC.
Earlier the exams for Patwari and Panchayat Secretary Posts were also delayed by almost two years. Considering the 2014 elections, now many experts fear that if the exams of LGC and Steno are not conducted within three and four months then the exam may get further delayed till July or Aug of 2014, when the Lok Sabha elections and process for new government formation will end.
“Just one week is left for Steno exam, but web link for downloading hall ticket is not available yet in the recruitment portal. Delay is causing tension among us,” said a candidate who has been preparing hard for the Steno Exam.
Candidates now urge the Lt. Governor to take up this matter and request the SSC to conduct these two exams on an early date before November as delay more than two months will mean, further delay of one year due to coming LS elections.
