Sri Vijaya Puram, Oct. 12: The Directorate of Sports & Youth Affairs has invited athletes, runners, sports personnel, interested officials and other sports enthusiasts from A&N Islands to participate in the 3rd Edition of the Kashmir Marathon 2026, scheduled to be held on Oct. 25 at Srinagar, Jammu & Kashmir.
The Kashmir Marathon, organised by the Government of Jammu & Kashmir, is a prominent National and International sporting event that promotes fitness, resilience, sustainability, youth participation and responsible tourism.
The 2026 edition will feature 56 prizes across different categories, including a prize of Rs. 25 lakh for the overall winner of the Full Marathon and Rs. 15 lakh for overall winner of the Half Marathon (each for the male and female) as indicated in the communication received from the Government of Jammu & Kashmir.
Participation in this prestigious event will provide an excellent opportunity for runners and sports enthusiasts from the Islands to demonstrate their sporting abilities, interact with participants from across the country and contribute to the spirit of National Unity, Cultural Exchange and ‘Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat.’
Interested participants have been advised to verify the registration procedure, eligibility criteria, race categories, participation fees, travel arrangements and other applicable conditions through the official event website before making travel arrangements.
