
Sri Vijaya Puram, Oct. 09: In observance of World Mental Health Day, a poster-making competition was organised at Jawaharlal Nehru Rajkeeya Mahavidyalaya by the Mental Health and Well-being Committee on October 9, 2026. The event aimed to raise awareness about mental health, encourage open conversations, and highlight the importance of emotional well-being among students.
The programme was graced by, Dr. Pearl Devdas, Principal, JNRM whose presence added significance to the occasion. The competition provided a creative platform for students to express their thoughts, perspectives, and concerns on mental health through impactful visual messages.
Students participated enthusiastically, presenting thought-provoking posters that highlighted the importance of mental well-being, breaking the stigma surrounding mental health issues, and fostering empathy, understanding, and support for those facing emotional challenges. Their creative expressions conveyed the message that mental health is an essential component of overall health and that seeking help should be encouraged without hesitation or discrimination.
The initiative reaffirmed JNRM’s commitment to promoting awareness, compassion, and holistic well-being among its students and the wider academic community.
